The Main Event!

“The 2007 Best Western Mallee Classic is only a couple of sleeps away.”

 

 

Over the period that the Classic has been running since 1998 we’ve met many people, some good and naturally some bad. 

The one saving grace is that no matter how bad some are, they cannot match the friendships and loyalty of those that enjoy the challenge of the Best Western Mallee Classic. 

 

Thanks to all our supporters and may you have a good race.

 

This year the race has been slightly interrupted by Thor and his mates at the weather department but never mind..if you’re organised you can get around most obstacles.  The birds have been training well and we’re looking forward to a great race.

 

CHARITY AUCTION

 

This year the support for the McCallum Disability Services Group has again been outstanding.  Thankyou to those who have donated birds and assistance.  The Group are worthy of our support and the auction offers an opportunity for pigeon enthusiasts to buy quality birds at a reasonable price.  The Internet bidding has about 12 hours to run..so have a look, you never know there may be something that you’re looking for!!

Go to the Mallee Market Place and view all the other birds for sale, some 70+ birds available at present and even a couple of Greyhounds for those interested.

PIGEON BALL

 

The annual ball will again take place at the Windermere Hotel on Saturday the 15th of September from whenever.  Entertainment, food and lots of frivolity are on the menu!!

 

CATERING

 

This year the local services clubs have found themselves over committed due to the local football leagues, subsequently all drinks will be on a BYO basis.  Food will still be offered to those interested.

 

POOLS

 

Owners have prior option before 10.00am, but Pools and Spare birds become available from 10.00am open on a First in First served basis. $120 to purchase any spare birds on the day!

 

Community Loft Birds – Old Birds

 

This year we will have an additional bit of fun with the Old birds running in their own little race. They will be made available at $10 each and Greg Carter from Stawell has guaranteed $100 prize for first bird back. There are quite a few old birds so get in early to select one before they are all sold!
