WHO’S ON FIRST…WATT’S ON SECOND
You may ask what this heading has to do with the price of fish!!! Well, in truth, probably nothing, but I did like the old Abbott & Costello routine that was based around it and seeing us how I’ve used it I’d better try and justify the heading.
With
regards to Who’s on first… most visitors to the site
will know Barry has been a busy as a one-armed paperhanger. The financial side to his business is going
great guns and has necessitated that he not only be on first but second and
third as well.
The
trip to
On
the subject of the Thai fanciers I have been asked to thank ALL the Australian
breeders who bred and put Thai rings on birds thus enabling them, the Thai
fanciers, the opportunity to again participate in the
Classic. The Friendship Cup will be a
tremendous success and imagine if an Oz bred Thai bird wins the Classic, the
breeder is off to
Watt’s on second, well, the introduction of the St Clair birds to the Mallee Classic lofts has generated a great deal of interest with many Victorians availing themselves of the opportunity to view and purchase these quality birds, virtually in their own back yard. We still have numbers of Janssens, Busschaerts, and some Verheyes available, as well as the famous Australian Black Diamonds. The Eyes alone, on these Black Diamonds are enough to get anyone excited.
Nick, is fast approaching his open day is N.S.W
and he has asked that we make all efforts to sell the birds in
……$50.00 to $150.00……
The birds are now available both from the Classic lofts in Ballarat as well as my loft in Melbourne, so if you are thinking about purchasing any of these excellent birds don’t hesitate because, we are both flat out like a lizards drinking and don’t know if we can devote the time to further shipments out of N.S.W.

Hopefully
that covers the WHO & WATT side of things, so that only leaves two recent
queries that I’ve received to address.
Firstly
to the critics of the classic I’ve got this simple message…GET A LIFE!!! It’s come to my attention that some people,
instead of congratulating Barry on his continuing business success, are
spreading rumours that the 2006 race entries are being neglected as a result of
this success.
The
health, safety and security of birds in the loft are paramount and Barry has in
place an infrastructure that will ensure that the birds are correctly and
adequately maintained leading up to this years’ race. Barry is extremely
grateful for the assistance that he continually receives from good friends such
as Nigel, Theo, and Barry Leonard, their, friendship, help and never ending
support is what the Classic is all about…”Pigeon flyers helping other pigeon
flyers to race their birds”. The Best Western Mallee Classic has continually
provided the highest number of returns for birds entered in any one-loft race
and will continue to do so. The 2006
birds have and will continue to receive the same high level of attention as
those of previous years.
Secondly,
a couple of people have remarked that it’s difficult to visit the loft. Well apart from the fact that it’s one and a
half hours from
Visitors
are always WELCOME at the lofts, but please contact Barry sometime prior to
your planned visit to ensure that you are not disappointed. He might even shout
you one of my beers, he’s good at that!!!
